Poor quality of spares, equipments and raw materials supplied to the govt. organisations is a big menace, and is one of the reasons for poor safety and productivity in the working of such organisations.

In most of the govt contracts the lowest bidder has to be given contract and a strong justification is required to give contract to bidder who quotes more price than the lowest bidder. Many reputed suppliers sometimes stay way from govt contracts due to this reason and the poor quality suppliers having huge margins do manipulation to secure such contracts. Result is loss of lives & property, many accidents, losses, bad organisational image etc.
