The Railway Department has allocated Rs.346.94 crore for gauge conversion in 37.23 km of Kalol-Kadi-Katosan on Ahmedabad-Ranunj railway line connecting Automobile Hub Bahucharaji. Mehsana MP Shardaben Patel had on April 7 submitted a written representation to Union Railway Minister Ashwin Vaishnav that no provision had been made for the line in the last budget. Following the approval, work will now proceed with the procedure including tendering. MP Shardaben Patel thanked the PM for allocating funds for the railways and said that these development works would create employment in the wake of industrial revolution as well as investment and provide employment to the youth of the state at home. the Bahucharaji area is also developing rapidly. Gauge change of Kalol-Kadi-Katosan Road-Bahucharaji railway line was necessary for this development to proceed at a faster pace. As this matter was not included in the last budget of the central government, the MP said that the gauge change of this railway line was very useful and necessary for the people.
