Karthik, The state govt. Did not rename the city recently. It has been the actual name as per records even before my birth. Its sad that AP Govt. is not ready to take up such matters seriously. On a flip side its not gonna harm much to any users since people who will read TELUGU only will be able to read the name in TELUGU. The majority of TELUGU speaking or understanding people would like it be a read as a TELUGU name rather than a Kannada name. FYI... Answering your other concerns, IRI does not just follow SBs or IR names blindly. There are instances where we give preference to convenience over rules. It would be better to leave the decision of local names on how they should be appeared on IRI page to a local admn or monitor.
Sudarshan, so basically you are saying being a monitor it's your prerogative. I have to just shut up and not dare to ask question. Not even point out that the rural development trust hospital in Telugu reads - Kalyanadurgamu.

I recollect now in 2014 or 13, a member (I visited the site regularly then) had similarly pointed out that KJM Krishnarajapuram should not have m in the end as per Kannada norms. But there was discussion and told to follow what was on SB and DLS.
