उल्लेखनीय है कि रेल मंत्रालय ने पिछले बजट में प्लेटफॉर्मो पर भीड़ नियंत्रित करने के लिए प्लेटफार्म टिकट का मूल्य 5 रुपये से 10 रुपये करने की घोषणा की थी. लेकिन यह उद्देश्य पूरा नहीं हो सका, क्योंकि यात्री प्लेटफार्म टिकटों को खरीदने की जगह 5 रुपये का न्यूनतम किराया टिकट खरीदने लगे थे.

बढ़ा किराया 20 नवंबर से प्रभावी होगा ताकि इसे प्लेटफॉर्म टिकट के शुल्क के बराबर बनाया जाए. इसका मकसद प्लेटफॉर्मों पर भीड़ कम करना है ताकि यात्रियों को सुविधा हो सके.

When we think we can plan our journey such that Telescopic fare will be granted to us we go to PRS. But when the form is rejected for 'Telescopic Fare benefit', we do not have good feeling.
