Train passengers in all air-conditioned classes and non-AC first class will have to pay a service tax. This is according to the proposal of Budget 2012-13. This is over and above the hikes proposed in the Rail Budget.
The income from the service tax will not accrue to the Railways.

#NOW ROUND IT NEAREST 5 RUPEE MARK =Rs.140
#TOTAL FARE AFTER RAIL BUDGET = Rs.1635
#SERVICE TAX APPLICABLE AFTER UNION BUDGET = 12%
#NOW 1635/12 % = 196.2
#FARE INCREASE AFTER UNION BUDGET = Rs.196.2 ~ Rs.197
#TOTAL AFTER POST BUDGET = Rs.1832
#FARE INCREASED IN END = Rs.337
# % INCREASE IN FARE POST BUDGET = 337/1495 = 0.225 ~ 23%
So Its not as 45% increase as said...
