So Recently i travelled in the speedster star of Chennai Mumbai Line:

Due to Family function in Chennai, i got the chance to travel Both in 22159 and 12164, anyways back to the trip log, unfortunately my coach was a WW LHB Coach which meant there were no charging ports below near my RAC Seat. anyways continuing, in the Evening we left towards Chennai Central @05:00PM, and we reached in exactly about 30 minutes, this meant i had plenty of time before 12164 departed @06:20PM, Anyways i was able to spot 2 trains regardless, the Chennai Jolarpettai Yelagiri Express and the Chennai Trivandrum Mail which were parked on Platform 11 and 9 respectively.

Now comes the time for departure, we departed RT @18:20 with our power being GOMOH WAP7 37523 , and so with a long honk, we started from MAS and we had a good run all the way to AJJ. along the way we had a crossing with Dhanbad Alleppey Express which had a WAP7, and some more EMU Locals, and we made it to Arrakkonam on time with a few minutes delayed.

after departing from Arrakkonam we had a good run till Tirutanni where we first crossed 16058 Tirupati Chennai EXP which was led by AJJ WAP4 22806 and after that, we cross 22157 for the First time which was led by another WAP4.

and so on the run continues where @Renigunta we cross Hubballi Tirupati Special led by a WAG9. and after that we enter in SCR where we Skip EVERY SINGLE Station Through Loop line. after that we were made to Stand at Gooty Jn Outer due to crossing with 12786 KCG MYS SF. and we arrived Gooty at 01:25AM, around 20 Minutes Delayed.

Next morning we cross Hanumapura and have a crossing with 12628 KK EXP and we arrive Wadi Jn BT by 25 Mins, where Hassan Solapur Express arrived and overtook us since we arrived so before time. and we depart from Wadi Bang on time, in the meantime 22601 MAS SNSI SF kept trailing us all the way. and we cross 22157 for the Second Time, iirc this time it was a WAP7, we arrive KLBG 5 Mins early and depart 2 mins delayed and we cross 16339 CSMT NCJ with a RPM WAP7 along the way towards Solapur and we reach SUR by 20mins Delayed. and then the main run begins to Pune, where 12164 departs Solapur at 08:10 and we make it to Hadapsar at around 11:10AM so covering the entire stretch in JUST 3 Hours, and we were kept at outer for more than 20mins, and we finally were let in at 11:46AM. and we departed by 11:55AM, and we have the Second last crossing with 11301 SBC Udyan Express, and so the descent begins and the last crossing of the journey ONLY happens at Badlapur with 22159 CSMT MAS SF. and we finally reach Kalyan by 02:45PM in the afternoon delayed by a measly 10-15 Minutes. nevertheless 12164 is definetly the speedster of this route in the down directions, and also in the up direction as 12163. someday ill travel in 12163 as well. anyways thank you for reading this long trip report. this isnt as good as my Solapur Vande Bharat Report, i tried, anyways thank you for reading my long trip report.

RATINGS:

Cleanliness: 7/10 - staff came and cleaned regularly, although mirrors were dirty anyways.

Punctuality: 9.9/10 - Very High priority train indeed, maintained 130 all the way to Wadi Jn apart from the stops, 130 upto Pune means a feasible speedup of atleast 45 mins

Food: NA/10: never got a chance since we had brought our own food

Maintenance: My Coach was 2019 made so Really AVERAGE.

Ticket Avl: 06/10: Very Packed train. for some reason majority of the people in my coach got down at Yadgir.

Hi all, This is my trip report on the Recently LHBFied 22159 Mumbai Chennai Express

The Day begins with me reaching CSMT at around 10:45AM and first i spot 82356 Patna Suvidha Express, proceeding that i waited until 12pm for Chennai Express's Rake to be shunted in CSMT PF9 Which was what i was expecting, but in last moment it turned out that they changed the Platform to 16 which had everyone rush towards it, and it wasn't until 13:30, about a delay of 45mins already when the rake was Finally Shunted

My Coach being M3 which was manufactured in December 2022 but was only shipped out in 2023, and With me there were a few Co Passengers already onboard from CSTM. its to be noticed that this train regularly sees Very Good Patronage from Mumbai to Renigunta. Upto Chennai the patronage is a little lower.

And it was to be expected that This Train nowadays if departing late would NOT Recover ANY Delay AT All...

After Departure from CST, The train Picked up Speed and Arrived Dadar well behind schedule, had a good 3 minute halt and departed, same pattern for Thane where it had around 5 minute halt, and at Kalyan, I was fortunate to be in 3E, since this train sees so much crowd in 3E itself, i was only thinking about how the Passengers in the Only Two Sleeper Coaches and the Two General Coaches were able to handle the crowd, the Third GS was Reserved for RMS itself. Anyhow the train departed Kalyan, and after a thorough run we reached Karjat where we crossed some other train which i forgot. In any case, the Run upto Pune was Average with train delay

The Run through Ghat Section was average, we reached Lonavala around 4pm, and after departure we crossed NCJ CSMT EXP lead by KYN WAP7. after this we didnt see much crossing except for few freights, and few loop skips of the stations between Lonavala and Pune. Begdewadi was a slow skip. And we reached Khadki by 05:08pm and departed by 05:10pm with a 2 min halt. we reached Pune by 05:40pm, to only depart by 06:10pm, a 30 min halt. at Pune me and my co passengers had tea. At pune

After Departure from Pune Jn, we rapidly accelerated and cruised through the Pune Daund Mainline and arrived Daund around 19:40pm, nearly 1hr 35mins delayed. After Daund, i had my dinner around 20:30 which was well lemon rice. we soon arrived Solapur with the same 1hr 35min delay and had a good 20min halt @SUR. and i dozed off until 02:15 where i woke up for a few minutes, saw we had reached Raichur Junction. we were well over 02h 15mins delayed at this point. and i dozed off again until @KKM:

Kamalapuram, where i woke up @06:20, brushed, and we reached HX: Kadapa Jn, at 06:35AM, Where we had a crossing with #16382: Kanniyakumari - Pune Express, and after a brief halt of around 5 mins, we Took off from Kadapa as well, after few skips, we Reached Renigunta around 08:35am, recovering 1 hour delay, now only being delayed by 50 mins, at Renigunta i got Samosa Vada and Tea. After the Mainline Skips, I Finally Reached Perambur at 11:15AM, Delayed by 1h 15mins.

finally my Favourite train 22159 will get LHB Coaches from February 23. im very excited about this news, although due to rake standardization im a bit disappointed but overall im VERY Excited.

Edit as of 25/12/2023: Apparently CC was changed to 1 SLR, 1 EOG, 2 GS, 2 SL, 8 3E, 2 2A = 16 Coaches.

A Detailed Review on 22225:

DOJ: 16/06/2023.

so had to take a Slow Local. Since it was Slow, it was convenient for both me and my mom. and along the way i spotted various trains like Jalna Janshatabdi which was hauled by KYN WDP4D 40233, Some special train with WAG9, 22159 with some WAP4, Pawan Express with LGD WAP7, LGD 30239 with Konark, 30611 with 22732 Hyderabad SF, Empty rakes of 12141 and Mahanagri

2) I Reached Mumbai CSMT by 02:45PM after which i went over to the namah Lounge suggested by vivek sir, and ate Puri Bhaji for ₹80, which was tasty but not as hot as i expected it to be.

3) after finishing my lunch, it was around 03:15PM, paid and got the bill, walked with my mom upto PF9 where 22225 was eventually placed at 03:35PM.

3) My Coach was C13 and my seat was 14 which was a window seat, luckily my window was the bigger one. so i had the full advantage of taking videos which i did.

4) Sharp 04:05PM, Our train departed Mumbai CSMT, at first the acceleration was slow due to all the track switching, but once on the mainline we rapidly accelerated through stations like Sandhurst Rd and Byculla. i was a bit more surprised due to the acceleration of the Vande Bharat.

5) The Skips of the Mumbai Suburban were a breeze and mainly were at a high speed, Reached Dadar 4 mins late, Even Thane was skipped around 70kmph after which the train slowed near Mumbra for 5-7 minutes, probably due to a Fast EMU ahead, and as we started accelerating again, the skip of Diva, Dombivli and Thakurli were around 80-85kmph subsequently. and we arrived KYN by a staggering 3 minute delay.

6) after departure from Kalyan, we were served the platter, which ill just include the picture.

7) The Skips from all the way from KYN to KJT was constantly 80-110kmph without even a bit of slowdown. i was personally expecting a bit high speed skip of Karjat which instantly died as my train skipped Karjat from the platform line as 2 KYN WAG7s (1 Tigerface) and we skipped karjat with a crawling speed of around 30kmph


8) The Ghat section, owing to rains were greener than usual and we still faced some downpours along the way, and overall it was a enjoyable part of the journey

9) And as we crawled through Lonavala"s third line again, as i was capturing the skip, on the opposite platform i noticed some ICF Train with very dark red TBs, presumably the Kolhapur Mumbai Koyna Express, and then a LHB Train right behind it, which was most likely 11302 Udyan. And then as we did the final stretch, along the way there was also the overtake of 17613 Panvel Nanded Express at Talegaon which was at a very high speed, Loco was some WDP-4D. and rest of the section was covered without any slowdowns except at Khadki and Shivajinagar IIRC. and we arrived Pune atleast 5 mins before the Scheduled Arrival Time, which meant the train would have stopped for 10mins at the end.

sorry this was my first time writing such a detailed trip report, incase of any inaccuracies or any mistakes, please do point them out in the replies. nevertheless thanks for reading my trip report.

my ratings might be a bit skewed but its my opinion so please dont get offended :P

Ratings:

CLEANLINESS: 9.5/10 = Windows were a bit dirty from the outside, could have been cleaned a bit better, but good nonetheless

PUNCTUALITY: 9.9/10 = maintained 2 - 3 minutes delay almost everywhere, reached before time at Pune

FOOD: 8.5/10 = got only the platter which i have shared. and the bottle of water in the beginning of the journey

SAFETY: 9/10 = Constant RPF rounds happened.

RAILFANNING 7.8/10 = the only overtake that i experienced was of 17613 PNVL NED EXP, otherwise the rest of the overtakes happened in CSMT KYN Stretch with EMUs only. lots of crossings though, missed out on a bunch

TICKET AVL: 10/10 = not even need to explain this one, instantly got two confirmed seats after booking.
