South Eastern Railway Ranchi Mandal Press Release Date: 29/11/2023 Subject: Meeting of the Parliamentary Committee of Honorable Members On date 29/11/2023, a meeting was conducted between the Parliamentary Committee of South Eastern Railway's Ranchi Mandal and Chakradharpur Mandal with respected Members of Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha), along with the General Manager of South Eastern Railway, Shri Anil Kumar Mishra. The meeting was attended by a total of 9 esteemed Members of Parliament from Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha. The meeting was chaired by Honorable MP, Lohardaga, Shri Sudarshan Bhagat, and Honorable MP (Rajya Sabha), Jharkhand, Mrs. Deepak Prakash. During the meeting, Honorable MP Ranchi, Shri Sanjay Seth, Honorable MP (Rajya Sabha), Jharkhand, Shri Aditya Prasad, Honorable MP (Rajya Sabha), Jharkhand, Shri Samir Urnaav, Honorable MP (Rajya Sabha), Jharkhand, Mrs. Mahua Maji, Honorable MP (Rajya Sabha), Odisha, Mrs. Mamata Mohanta, Honorable MP, Paschim Singhbhum, Mrs. Geeta Koda, and Honorable MP, Khyonjhar, Mrs. Chandrani Murmu were present. The General Manager of South Eastern Railway, Shri Anil Kumar Mishra, welcomed the Members of Parliament and thanked them for their continuous support and cooperation. The Members of Parliament appreciated the work done by South Eastern Railway and assured their support for the smooth functioning of the railway services. During the meeting, the Members of Parliament provided suggestions to the railway administration on various issues related to train services, stoppages, cleanliness, and timely completion of railway projects for the convenience of passengers. They also provided valuable suggestions for the development of the basic infrastructure of Ranchi and Chakradharpur Mandal. They emphasized on improving passenger facilities at various stations and requested for new trains and additional stops. Discussions were also held on the construction of new lines, road-over-bridges, underpasses, increasing train frequencies, expanding services, and upgrading stations. The General Manager informed the Members of Parliament about the performance of South Eastern Railway in terms of freight and passenger transport for the current financial year. He highlighted the passenger amenities and environment-friendly initiatives adopted by South Eastern Railway. He mentioned that the suggestions given by the Members of Parliament for improving passenger facilities and the development of railway infrastructure will be duly reviewed. The meeting was attended by Shri Jasmeet Singh Bindra, Divisional Railway Manager, Ranchi, Shri Arun Jatoh Rathod, Divisional Railway Manager, Chakradharpur, and other senior officers from South Eastern Railway's Ranchi and Chakradharpur Mandal branches.
