Pregnancy Quota: Recently railways has started a new quota for females" Pregnancy Quota"/ Has anyone booked a ticket in this quota.? What is the procedure for the same? Also , in case somebody has already booked a ticket in this quota, can a waitlisted ticket be converted into a a confirmed ticket on grounds of pregnancy.
Thanks.
Thanks.

is there any column in reservation form to mention it?? if not than will it be considered automatically by the system in case of cancellation of SS quota??
I doubt this since the age is below 45 & i doubt if there is any special column for this.......
Can you please let me know the same....

As per my view, in this case you have to book in tatkal at railway counter and while booking request the booking clerk for lower berth.
from what I understand, even the waitlisted will be confirmed( using all available quotas) on chart preparation.
1. Manytimes in online availability it doesn't show that seats are available in SS quota, however when you go on the reservation window, seats may be available. ( I am a bit unsure about this)
2. Reservation forms have been modified now. They ask for whether the passenger is above 45yrs/Pregnant. So that you can be preferentially allotted a LB.
3. For booking ticket in pregnancy quota Doctors prescription and a copy of sonography report would do, no separate medical certificate is required. You also need to carry these reports while travelling.
