I got the information from the guard of the BOXN train in the video. The mystery of coal trains towards Rajpura has been unveiled. These trains don't come from BTI, but a western sea docks from far and in Maharashtra. The coal they bring is a very high grade/quality coal for TPP , imported from other countries. This coal is then loaded onto these BOXN wagons at sea docks, and then transported to Mandi Gobindgarh, and from there, it is loaded into trucks and then transported again to TPP in Himachal. They may be coming via Bathinda but not originating from there. They may be coming via Rohtak, Jakhal, Dhuri route also, then terminating at Mandi Gobindgarh. They are coming via branch lines as the mainlines are very congested and it takes 3-4 days for these trains to reach MG.
I am sure that after electrification of this route including Rohtak-BTI, Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Lehra Mohabat and Jakhal-Dhuri-Ludhiana, the freight trains traffic shall be more ,as of now these trains are restricted due to non-electrified tracks in this region. After RE, they can ply on those routes seamlessly with electric locos.
