Without MAQ and Mangalore Port area, existence of SR/ PGT divn itself may be a question mark. But entire Mangalore region is neglected by PGT divn. Alternate station MAJN has no infrastructure. Just a water filling stn for long distance trains. You will be freightened to get out of stn at odd hours. During day time, you may find few autos and buses. No proper road to connect MAJN stn to Main road (NH 48). When you get lot of revenue, why not take it through MAQ? Don't expect Mangaluru city public to take trouble to come to MAJN just because SR/ PGT is not willing to take train to MAQ and do one loco reversal. If train is run via MAJN, you will lose patronage of Mangaluru public. Buses in Manipal/Udupi-Mangaluru-Kasargod stretehes are popular because, no one can go to MAJN for trains.
