Just a suggestion.
CR should convert this duranto into a A.C superfast express with the same technical halts as commercial halts. This will help the pune people who don't get seats in 17031 and 12701 trains.

As mentioned in the gone budget, railways are yet to introduce the new trains which were promised. We can't expect new trains every now and then, more over if the existing trains are maintained as per schedule, ultimately the commuters will be satistied.

Compare per capita income of those countries with India,.. We have lot of BPL families who works as daily wage labours away from home. They need to return to home during vacations . Also we have lot of population in lower middle class ... if privatization is implemented then they certainly cannot afford trains ..
Schemes like Wifi are using lot of money but these schemes are useless for them .. I wish railway spends money in right direction and not waste it and then go bankrupt and get privatized...

well, its time we see things with a different perspective. We cannot run any organisation just to serve the people. It must bring in effective utilisation of resources and at the same time must make money in a justified manner, which currently is not happening.

Second, its the hardearned tax money of the honest tax payers that gets wasted in the name of subsidies. You talk about people being BPL, well, its not really the Govt`s fault that they are BPL. in a free India, everybody has a chance to make money,

hence paying for somebody`s journey just becuase they dont earn much seems a really stupid idea. If they dont have money, then for travelling they will work harder and thus earn more money to enable them to travel.

thridly, alternate forms of transport will develop, there will be other modes of transport that will cater to those people who cant afford trains.

We had govt run enterprises for nearly 5 decades and except a few, all have turned into white elephants, billions have been wasted in the name of pseudo-socialism. Railways is in no way different, we hardly make any money on SL and GN classes.

that does not mean we privatise everything and that too at one go. It should be a level playing ground for both public and pvt players.

Instead of complete privatization, IR should increase the FDI in IR a bit much more. Trains can run and can be maintained on PPP model,just like many railway stations and IRCTC is working.

SCR will earn more revenue if it convert it into A.C express bcoz even though the arrival time is 0200hr still people from pune will take it. Yess i agree the revenue of shatabdi will reduce if duranto gets converted into a.c express.
