Instead of doing this Victorian process, the passenger can take a taxi and go the original boarding station :-)
Ooh how do know that passenger can make it by taxi to his booking point...What if new BP is around 200-300 Kms apart from the actual boarding point. Suggest you not to come up with such advises.
Cool down. And that was not any kind of advise. It was just a comment. This could be added in the IRCTC online portal as an option for online tickets and could be done before 24 hrs or chart preparation time. These kind of old system should be changed.
The taxi cost might might be more than the ticket itself! Just like flying by airlines where getting to the airport itself is more expensive than the fare!
Yes, agree IR needs to discard this Victorian procedure and amend IRCTC software so that it allows BP change after booking ticket.

while booking tkt from irctc it can be done without affecting the qouta. but once the tkt is booked you have to follow the already mentioned steps.
