I heard recent news that sweets were distributed at Jhinkpani (JNK) station as demand for stoppage of two Express trains at that station has been approved by the Railway Board i.e. train no. 18403/18404 -Chakradharpur (CKP) - Barbil (BBN) - Chakradharpur (CKP) Intercity Express and train no. 12021/12022 - Howrah (HWH) - Barbil (BBN) - Howrah (HWH) Janshatabdi Express. Can anyone confirm how far is this news true and since when shall this stoppage come into effect?
Truly speaking, it is not about my concern about these remote places of IR. It is the human nature to want the stoppage of all trains passing through his/her residential place or the station nearest to his/her residential place. This is not wrong at all. But the fact is that providing more and more stoppages to express trains decreases their average speed and makes them more and more like passenger trains. If stoppage is provided at Jhinkpani (JNK) also, then next the people of Maluka (MLKA) station will also demand for its stoppage there. On 25/08/2014, the people of Maluka Station had jammed the rail track for 5 hours 30 minutes demanding for the stoppage of train no. 12021/12022 - Howrah (HWH) - Barbil (BBN)...
