HOW is the chair car travel from Chennai to New Delhi. Is it comfortable. How is the sleeping
Should be fairly comfortable; but tiring. Good question actually. CC on such a long journey can be strenous. As for sleeping, well, you have to make your own arrangements (please don't take this as a serious answer), you can use the aisle with discomfort to other travellers.. I guess others in the CC will be doing the same. If the CC is not crowded, then you can use one method which I used to do in the former AC Expresses between Delhi-Calcutta and Delhi-Bombay - use the empty chairs next to you, wriggle as much as you can under the arm rest, and crouch and SLEEP. :) I have done this on Economy class in the international airlines.. Good luck and good wishes.
Chair cars used to be the norm before discovery of 3 tier ac. people used to travel in CC to many far off places without asking questions like whethr it will be comfortable or not. they used to adjust and as the previous blogger said sleep in various positions. Of course it used to recline a bit. rajdhanis had CC instead of 3ac and all major sf trains had 1/2 CC in place of 3ac. now CC is used only for short travel in trains like shatabdi & more recently in GR.
Still GR CC is more comfortable than erstwhile CC of olden days. You can sleep if the side seats are empty or choose a Window seat for more comfort...
