Many a times I have seen people were debating over late running of trains in NCR. I never get involved in any of these debates. Last week I went to visit my maternal aunt(Mausi) in Allahabad for some family function. My maternal Uncle (Mausa) works in NCR as a senior sectional engineer. So, it was a golden opportunity for me to ask him why trains run late in railways, especially in NCR? Discussion was very healthy and interesting. He told me railway tracks are over-saturated with traffic in NCR. Every year railways starts new trains on existing infrastructure which was originally designed to handle less than quarter of traffic(1/4) of present day. Right now NCR tracks are 400% saturated, than it was originally designed. He also told me that 70% of revenue are generated from freight traffic and Railways incures loss from passenger traffic from very first day of operation. He...

For Priority 3 - "OnTime Running SF". On 15 Oct I was on board 12307 HWH JU exp and I was Bang on RT at MZP and upto Bheerpthen but then I arrived 2:50 hr late at ALD and 12987 SDAH AII was Ahead of us from DKAE itself and it also got delayed ! On 15 Oct itself 12381 Poorva arrived ALD bangon RT and Loco change procedure is allotted 30 mins as an excess halt but still somehow ALD took 62 mins to depart the train. All 3 belong to the Priority 3 level but No Priority is served actually ! What about that ? :)
