The starting TE has not exactly reduced (it's still unknown whether it has). Because P5's starting TE is not at all limited by gear ratio but its own adhesion.
Although the gear ratio has been reduced, IR has also provided adhesion enhancing features like vector control for motors, individual motor control, etc.
The need to modify 30086 might have been to improve acceleration at higher speeds. In the trials in July last year, between NDLS and AGC, 30013 Navkirti took 100-105 mins to reach Agra against an expected 90 mins ride. Modifying the...
