ijayawada, July 2 (UNI) The Railway Ministry has sanctioned a Rs four crore project to strengthen the bypass line between Gunadala and Rayanapadu stations to divert goods and some long-distance express trains and ease the pressure on Vijayawada railway station, MP L Rajagopal said today. Talking to newspersons after inaugurating a renovated platform at the railway station here he said the Gundala Railway station would be developed as a 'satellite station.' He said works to provide Rs 20 crore worth passenger amenities were under progress at the railway station and added Rs 15 crore was spent for this purpose during the last three years. The ministry had sanctioned two more escalators for the railway station, he added.
