AZT~ 3215 blog postsOne of the best trains of SR to challenge the likes of WAP-7. Absolute ripper with grandpa AJJ WAP-1. The coaches are better maintained than TNSK. Known for its uncomfortable timing specially for interior TN both up & down. Has technical stoppage at Warangal for a minute. Some sleeper coaches have charging points. Brings with it 1/2 milk tankers (Code: VVN, 110 Kmph mps, 40,000L capacity) and are detached at BZA. Also 2 HCPVs are attached (preferably at front) which are unloaded at MS. Fewer halts than TN Express but lacks its aggression. Plenty of passengers for Chennai Egmore who may be downright scared of CBC couplings.

Veg thali for Rs 90/-. 2 chappathi, plain sabzi, gulab jamun, plain rice, dal & one glass of water. Quantity: Sufficient, Quality: Average.
On that day train was heavily delayed by 2 hours and departed from MS at 19:45. And reached my destination TPJ at 0:45. Thus the Grandpa just overshadowed WAP-7 by an average speed of 67 kmph. The fastest train in this section is Vaigai Express which runs at 66 kmph between MS & TPJ.
Conclusion: WAP 7 is a state of mind

WAP7 can show its power only when the train has aggressive schedule with many halts or MPS is 120+,. Else WAP1 is more than enough.
