As i know the surveys for rbr and for ldh dhuri jakhal track were done but at that time ldh hsr ki ror kam thi magar ab barwala tpp , feeder rpute for wdfc, ghungrana dry port ke karan ispe traffic bahut badh gaya hai so now it needs doubling.
Rbr ki bhi pehle ror km thi magar jab se tpp chale hain tabhi se iski ror badhi hai aur doubling sanction hui hai.
RBR is a strategically important route, connecting to western borders for military purpose, and yes TPPs , HPCL unit, cement unit of Ambuja and many other things are also a factor , secondly RBR pe maximum land railway ki api hai (as confirmed for the concerning source) LHR pe bahut land issues hain, as per officials, which calls for mass litigation, which may consume lot of time and money. This is the fact told to me by senior officials recently. LHR ki doubling possible hai if people are ready to vacate those occupied lands and state govt could bear the burden too, which is amounting in crores and crores of rupees, so for railways its a loss machine at this time.
