You plz do not conclude anything in haste based on your views.
The earlier # 23496-6 reply derives its force from the published Rly books and not any off the cuff remarks.
The distance restrictions are there in those trains and many other trains but subject to the exceptions notified by the Rlys (available in published books). Does that mean that there are no distance restrictions ? What is the logic present in your reply ?

You still seem to be getting confused with "distance restriction" and "booking restrictions"

Its not my views. You can yourself query the irctc website and see the query results for yourself. If you want I can book these short journey tickets for you and provide you the PNR number, but I would have to waste some Rs 50 in doing so (irctc...

Well, do you know that even in trains which do NOT have "distance restriction", we cannot "reserve" tickets between specified stations? Now how can you explain this?

The reason you cannot "reserve" tickets between specified stations of a train, despite not having "distance restriction" is because the PRS system has decided which all source-destination pairs to allow and which all not to allow. And its independent of the distance. It can happen that the system permits booking a short distance ticket and restricts a long distance ticket in the same quota....
