Why restricting new line only to Mys-Ypr think far Mys - Ypr - Tpty or Mys - Ypr - Bay or Mys - Ypr - Pdy via Sbga because soon you will see saturation on Mandya line
Exhausted all your "ideas" about your proposed "new line" ???
Exhausted KSRTC bashing.

Hey buddy don't take it serious, i see few people who don't like trains at all because of some cleanliness problem or people who don't like buses becuase they get puked, so thought any bad experiences you had. Back to our point. If we see rail line Northern India many of the line run parallel close to 20-30-50 kms, so what is the problem of having alternate Sbc-Mys route via Sbga, it will be definitely used once Mandya line gets saturated, you may not know in future Chikkabanavara Jn becoming new terminal and Mys-Bay trains will go via Sbga-Baw-Tk-Rdg, etc
The traffic potential is really a big question.
Both MYS HAS and YPR HAS routes have very low passenger traffic, and HAS is pretty much the only station on the route that has substantial passenger traffic.
YPR SBGA MYS would be almost double the distance compared to the shortest route and is also a single route. The travel time would be at least 2-3 hours more than the Mandy route. And regular travellers between SBC MYS would never prefer this long journey...

Yes pretty clear. If at all traffic is the question on Mandya(SBC-MYA-MYS) route, then skipping Hassan for alternate route(SBC-SBGA-MYS) does not make sense for new long distance trains if started via this route. Anyhow this route will not be exclusive useful for Bengaluru-Mysuru traffic, my question was for long distance alternate route only, and it was just 30 kms approx. I will start another poll for connecting second(winter) capital of Karnataka and biggest city of Hyd-KA region Kalburagie: /blog/post/2421797
