Conversion of Howrah Malda Janshatabdi Express to Intercity Express in 2007
This train, was brainchild of Gani Khan, he demanded a very fast connection from Malda to Sealdah (Sealdah was his all time preferred station in kolkata area), but operating department didn't find it feasible to run till Sealdah as Jubilee bridge was single line, so it was terminated at Howrah. It's remind me the childhood days when this train stared in this route. Everyone in our locality was proud of being a passenger of this train as it's had a awesome experience at that time. But as time passed, the passenger footfall decreased and it's became a intercity express.
