Yes. CTA, BAY, HPT, KBL will get connectivity to BGK by Basava express for 8 days. But no connectivity to SUR, as this train will terminate at BGK and return back.
GY-Kalluru is a single line, so they may not have any free slots.
Also, if diverted, these trains will have to occupy the main line PFs at GTL and SCR may not have been able to plan out the PF allocation for this short period.

It's just 2 daily trains I was talking about for a distance of just 29 Kms and the halt at GTL is hardly 5 mins, so they could have delayed / regulated.
For Interlocking / NI works of some 20 Kms of double line, such major cancellations and diversions.

Well, unfortunately we just see the passenger trains and not the freight traffic, maintenance blocks and many other things that go on in the background.
Regulating for some time would have been a better option, but then both SWR and CR will also have to agree to accommodate the delays after regulating.
Cancelling services like this cuts down the revenue for the zonal railways and as much as possible, they avoid cancelling trains.

They wud have diverted mas-snsi via gy-dmm instead of gy-Ru skipping KJM
