The WAP5 is the way going forward for IR. It already has many features that are required for passenger locomotives. With the new software update, it now has more than 6000HP in power.Given it's small and light weight design,beyond this, it is better to use twin-unit locos or push-pull arrangement locos for higher power than using a single-unit locomotive.

In T18's FIAT bogie, the disc brakes are wheel mounted. In addition, pneumatic suspension has been provided at the secondary stage to withstand dense crush loads (although not necessary) and to improve the ride index.
Before software modification : 5440 HP
After software modification : 6125 HP (approx.)
This addition of around 700 HP will definitely improve the acceleration and hauling capacity of the loco. It is still surprising the power rating of aerodynamic WAP5 is 5440 HP. As the experiment of upgrading WAP5 to 6000+ HP was successful, this modification also could have been carried out.

30136 was upgraded first, but in CLW itself. One or two more locos were upgraded in September. Modification in the software was carried out by Bombardier (BTIPL).
