Aisa nahi rehta bhai when you going to run Eloco on sections their will some limited Trains intially to run with Eloco as per available power from the grid to run Eloco at that moment and also even all lines get Electrified still their will be Dloco in usage at some times for one or another reasons.
It is to move locos due for maintenance to their home shed.
When MLDT diesel locos operating in NFR are due for maintenance, it will be more efficient and convenient to send it as a loco link for some regular train, than send it as a light loco for all the distance.
Such arrangements used to be more common, but are gradually disappearing because of increased electrification and more maintenance-free loco designs.

If same loco take charge then Same amount of diesel have been used but some more is consumed in LC .. but they need to transfer one loco to ghy daily for some LSA/Routine workout ... And if it tranfer is made dead then also attachment of loco is need and it will also increase the load on engine. .....
And for twins then usage of diesel increases
