Ranjanrakesh 150 blog postsI have to travel by 12325 Kolkata Nangal Dam express next month. I would be reaching Howrah by Chennai Howrah mail and hence need to go to Kolkata to board the next train. I know taking a cab would be the easiest option. But, since I have sufficient time in hand and would also like to explore the city, can someone suggest me bus route from Howrah to Kolkata? From the maps I could understand that If one reaches Belgachia, then it would be easy to walk to the station. Please help me and suggest me bus routes from HWH to Kolkata.

Book a cab because the time you reach Howrah you won't get proper bus service. MAS Mail arrival is at 3:45am. You will get bus for Shyambazar around 5 am and you have to walk a bit from Shyambazar to KOAA station. Your train for KOAA is at 7:40 am. So don't take risk. Best option is to book a cab.

Btw, how far will be Kolkata from Shyam Bazaar? Anyways, there will be no traffic early morning and the buses will not take much time to reach Shyam Bazaar from Howrah.

It is a 10 minutes walk from Shyambazar. Not much. If you reach Shyambazar by 6:45 am you will have no problem.
How is the punctuality of the Gurmukhi express ? Does it reach Patna at the scheduled time ?
Yes. Good only. Till PNBE you won't face heavy delays until and unless rescheduled from KOAA end.
