Karwar and Udupi pax demanded this one as an extra service. With this, they are losing out on connections to MAQ and MYS. But very useful change for those getting to Bangalore.
Increasing the frequency of 16585/6 to daily can enable running Kannur Exp all days via MYS so at least MAQ will be reachable through both the shorter route and via MYS.

The hurdle for that would be the running of additional trains on the Shiradi route. I believe, for the YPR-VSG express too, part of the reason for not running a new train is the lack of additional capacity on the line.
But sir ,main problem is ramanagara, Mandya & mysuru lost railway connectivity to Udupi, Karwar [coastal Karnataka].. this is huge loss to mys .
Yes agree. In fact if someone wants to travel till MAO/VSG will be able to take ticket only till Karwar. From there will hardly have time to buy another ticket. This i think is a definite loophole
Today will be the only day both trains are running as per what MP Shobha Karandlaje initially told. From tomorrow, only train is 16595/96 for Karwar.
