I see many Rail Activists asking for the extension of Belagavi - SC ( Hyderabad ) Exp. to Manuguru.
There are some disadvantages to this :
1. ...
more... It will add 660 Kms - 330 + 330 to the rake and this will require more frequent PM (issuing RBPC) at the ONLY pitline at BGM.
2. If the ONLY pitline at BGM is used for the PM of this train almost everyday, then the chances of starting another new train using that ONLY pitline at BGM is less.
3. This train is mainly used by the people of BGM, DWR, UBL, GDG, HPT, BAY to go to Hyderabad - a employment generating Metro city.
4. Beyond that not many from Karnataka use it. Bhadrachalam temple is visited by mostly by people of Telangana and Coastal Andhra.
5. In the future when more pitlines are built at BGM, sure extend this, but not right now.
6. Manuguru DEFINITELY requires a daytime Intercity from Hyderabad, but that can be run by SCR using the pitlines in Hyderabad. But using this train to be run as ICE , will be disadvantageous as mentioned above.
7. The available slots at the only pitline at BGM needs to be used for a new daily trains to Chennai and Vizag - the capital cities and employment generating big cities.
8. Also that pitline needs to be used for a Day train or night train to connect to Kalaburagi, Bidar.
9. Some mentioned that the BGM SF / RC Exp RSA trains will be maintained at BGM. If that happens then no hope of any new trains , as the pitline will ALWAYS be occupied by that train during day since that is 4 rakes which needs to be issued RBPC daily.
10. SBC division needs to continue to do PM of those trains.
11. I am putting forth these points so as to make those demanding the extension aware of the issues involved with extension and the need to use the ONLY pitline as best as possible.
