This bypass at chunar is needed on urgent basis, so that trains from GKP/ BSB/ GAYA/ PATNA/ NJP (North east) can avoid PRYJ completely for going towards Mumbai, Surat, and south via JBP- Gondia line. As going via JBP-G-BPQ will compensate for travel time via NGP with low sectional speed in Chunar to SGRL.
