Extention also will not save the train even to Hubli or Belgavi the occupancy will not improve above a certain point and even with 80% occupancy. When the sector is attracting 20-30% its very difficult to attain the remaining 70% with extention.
That doesn't make any sense. KSRTC runs about 50 daily buses on the Mangaluru Hubli sector. On the Mangalore-Goa sector? Just ONE. Now granted most of these buses are ordinary ones but the traveler demographics are totally different between these cities.
Plus nobody is asking for its extension to Belagavi or Hubballi as of now. We want it to run to Mumbai; a fair ask considering the fact that the Konkan Railway project was hastily spearheaded by a Mangalorean to connect Mangalore and Mumbai, isn't it?

This should be cancelled immediately and the rake should be used elsewhere
