Kalyan is also set to receive WAP4 and WAP 7 from CLW once the Mumbai region is energised with AC traction. Currently the KYN station has DC traction 1.5 KV and the yard is energised with AC traction and so is the 5th and 6th line from KYN till Diva JN.the neutral zone for the traction change from DC to AC happens about 0.5 km after the station towards both the KJT side and KSRA side. The stretch from KYN to TNA and the 5th and 6th line from TNA to LTT was to be converted from DC to AC by May end but sadly it hasn’t happened till now . with this conversion LTT would be powered by AC traction thus facilitating the entry of AC locomotives right upto LTT thereby eliminating the need for a loco change at Igatpuri. LTT-Haridwar AC exp, LTT-HWH Jnaneshwari/Samarasta exp, LTT-GKP SF exp are the LTT bound trains which have a great chance of getting a WAP series loco
