The reason i cud see is all berths must have been booked
. And side upper is hardly prefered... so side uper must have been the only berths available

no bro. most of the SL berths are allocated to RAC WL passenger in sleeper classes.
Only 5 SLB are allotted in SL Class for RAC. The other 4 can be booked normally
Not necessarily i suppose... there are trains which have RAC allocation of over 150+ where more side lower berths are alloted RAC
