my train from bangalore will reach thane at 1.30 pm. Then i have to catch train from borivali at 4.15 pm. How can i reach there? by bus or by local train?

On most holidays, Railways undertake restoration work, put blocks, etc. So frequency of locals may decrease.

If 'All is Well' you have Gods grace on your side.
But Mumbai is where God hardly descends.
Let me give you a lowdown. Whether taxi, or a Ferrai it is not going to help. Between Thane and Borivali there is a small ghat/pass section where frequently trucks get struck/fail. The traffic stops with 1 or 3 km long line. Once you are able to clear this, which is occassional you will further get stuck at Kashi Mira junction on the western express highway where there is a 2 km long

fly over coming up. Every day there is 2 km long traffic line due to bottleneck created.
This is not usual but a daily occurence.
But still you want a chance to be taken, try your luck!
