Loss for Alappuzha and gain for Thiruvananthapuram; announcement from railways to come soon
The Southern Railway is considering extending three trains currently terminating at Alappuzha to Thiruvananthapuram: the Alappuzha-Chennai Superfast (22639/22640), Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express (16307/16308), and the Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express (13351/13352). Extension of 13351/13352 upto KCVL/TVC is most welcome step along with 18189/18190 upto ALLP but I personally feel that after commission of new CDO,pitlines at Nemom 18189/18190 will surely get extension upto Nemom in near future
18189/90 frequency should be increased. It will decrease the load of 13351/52
18189/18190 were proposed to be a DAILY Train. But it was introduced as a Bi weekly Exp. Every one thought that the frequency of this train would be increased gradually to make it a DAILY. But SER has forgotten the proposal and it remained as a Bi Weekly till today.
Passengers Associations should bring pressure on the SER to increase its frequency to make it a daily. Speed of this train should be increased to run as a SF train.
