Grievance Description: This grievance is regarding the provision of several facilities in NEW AMRAVATI station on Badnera-New Amravati-Narkher line on CENTRAL RAILWAY. This line took nearly 20 years for its commencement. Recently, the importance of this line is proved in the occasions of major accidents or disruptions on Central or West Central Railway regions. However, this line is not being fully utilized to its capacity for several reasons such as (1) no electrification, (2) single line, (3) no new trains. Only 2 daily passenger trains and two weekly express trains pass through this line. This train is being mainly used fro goods traffic. The suggestions and requests are: (1) This route needs an urgent electrification. (2) A cord line between New Amravati and Amravati terminus is a necessity to operate emergency services and start passenger train from Amravati. As New Amravati is a out of town station, people do not favor using New Amravati.

Grievance Description: This grievance is regarding increase in the frequency of 59025/26 Surat-Amravati-Surat Fast Passenger from triweekly to daily. This is a very popular train among daily passengers attending offices and schools on this route due to its convinient timings. Also, there are many end-to-end travelling passengers. This train runs over-packed in holiday seasons and WR runs a Udhna-Amravati special every season to meet the passenger demands. Request is to increase the frequency of this train from tri-weekly to daily to facilitate passengers. This train is also a revenue earner and will surely add to railway profits.
Email reply details: Suggestions made in your above letter have been examined and position is as under:
To run 59025/59026 Surat – Amravati Passenger daily.
At present 59025/59026 Surat – Amravati fast Passenger runs as a Tri-weekly service with 2 rakes and during lie-over period the rake is under Primary maintenance which is obligatory from safety point of view.
Increase in frequency of train from tri-weekly to daily is operationally not feasible due to track capacity constraints on Surat – Jalgaon single line section compounded with inadequate terminal / maintenance facilities at Surat.
Moreover doubling work of Surat – Jalgaon section is under progress.
Hope you will appreciate the position.

Grievance Description: This grievance is regarding the amenities in AMRAVATI Terminus in Maharashtra. Amravati is a district city and one of the important city in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. AMRAVATI Terminus has been declared as a Model station and some developments like construction of new station building and platforms took place. However, the station still lacks some basic amenities that only railways can provide. (1) Nearly 5 SF and express trains leave Amravati terminus. However, the station do not have coach indicators on any of the platform. (2) The station do not have a train announcement system which is highly inconvenient to passengers as they have to rush when train suddenly starts. (3) The station personnel, TTE do not have any control over public (except passengers) entering the platform, for e.g. many people enter the station without platform tickets and nobody restricts them. (4) Many beggers and touts stay in station campus overnight. (5) No compound to station campus, so public enters and leave platforms from any side they want without ticket. (6) As on any other station in India, a strong influence of ticket agents can be seen. It is unavoidable, but some station personnel allow them inside reservation counters. (7) No proper parking system available. (8) Further, the station is not being fully utilized to its capacity as very few trains arrive and depart Amravati. Increasing the load on station is must by starting new trains towards Bhusawal or Nagpur. I request you to kindly look into this matter and solve the issues.

It does halt at NEW AMRAVATI (NAVI) and not at AMRAVATI (AMI). It's mistake in official website and IRCTC. Amravati Main Station does not fall on line. From NEW AMRAVATI it directly goes to BADNERA Jn which is a Junction point for Amravati-Badnera, New Amravati-Badnera, Nagpur-Badnera and Bhusawal-Badnera lines. With the opening of NEW AMRAVATI station, Amravati city have now three railway stations, AMRAVATI (AMI), BADNERA Jn. (BD) and NEW AMRAVATI (NAVI).
