SER is a totally lost cause now.
I have a feeling this train is deliberately being targetted since it serves a quite remote area post TATA.
Areas such as Chaibasa and Bara Jamdi are totally dependent on this train, if you exclude the Tata bound passengers. Absolutely shambolic behavior by SER.

First thing, if they say rescheduled by 3 hrs, at most one can expect 3:15 or 3:20 hrs delay. What is this, 2 hr post rescheduled time? Absolutely bonkers.

don't wish for the day to come but soon we may see widespread violence at Howrah (SER), KGP-PKU-MCA (for local trains), TATA, ROU, etc.

Yesterday as per WIMT 12022 took 6:05 hrs post Tata till Howrah. Average 40.9 kmph
As per NTES it took 6:21 hrs at an average of 39.2 kmph
This has become a regular scenario

Even 12872/22862 Ispat is running better at an average of 47.2 kmph between TATA-HWH and at an average of 49.5 kmph between JSG-HWH

Main issue is in JSG-ROU section. On time trains at JSG get delayed by 2+ hrs at ROU. ROU-TATA also contributes to the delays.

Many months passed but the status of running of trains didn't improve. The plight of passengers is not even imaginable.
The examples of numerous complaints raised by passengers on X (formerly Twitter) is attached. I cannot even list all out, such is your deed-list. Adding a cherry to the top of a cake is short terminating trains at Santragachi without any prior information, that too, sometimes in the middle of the night.
I remember some days back enquiry counter was damaged at Howrah because enquiry officials weren't giving a proper answer of when would 12021 Jan Shatabdi depart from Howrah. Atleast give proper answers to pacify the passengers but no, you will put your hands up. "বিলম্ব হবে" this is what you know.
Let us see your actions in the recent days-
1 12021 Jan Shatabdi Exp (7.5.24) rsch by 3 hr on late arrival. Departed 5 hr late
2 12022 Jan Shatabdi Exp (6.5.24) took 6:05 hr for 249 km TATA-HWH, against timetabled 4:12 hr
3 12822 Dhauli Exp (6.5.24) short terminated at SRC, no info given (reached SRC 2 hr late)
4 12833 ADI HWH Exp (5.5.24) received 00:40 hr late at JSG and 1:53 hr late at HWH
5 12859 Gitanjali Exp (5.5.24) received 2:05 hr late at JSG and 3:40 hr late at HWH
6 08145 TATA ROU MEMU (6.5.24) ontime at TATA and 3:22 hr late at ROU
7 22169 PUNE SRC Hms (1.5.24) received 2:45 hr late at JSG and late by 6 hr at SRC
8 12102 Jnaneswari Exp (6.5.24) made to depart SHM late by 1 hr (pairing rake came 12 hr before departure)
9 18616 Kriya Yoga Exp (6.5.24) took 6:27 hr for 249 km TATA-HWH (Timetable 4:40 hr)
10 12814 Steel Exp (7.5.24) received 1 hr late at HWH
Should I enlist more? Please give a reply if you want some more examples

Let's see what happens post Kharagpur. If 12022 will be late by more than 4 hours, i.e. midnight arrival at Howrah, then tomorrow's 12021 will be rescheduled or given a late departure because today is the Maintenance day

This is the reply I got through PGPortal

1. 12021 on 07.05.24 link train arrived late resulted rescheduling of the train by 3 hrs .However, in last moment sick of one CZAC Coach resulted heavy shunt and late completion of the rake which is absolutely necessary on the passenger finally empty train arrived HWH late and started at 1 hr 18 minutes I.e 298 minutes late the late start is highly regretted.

12022 on 06.05.24 started 51 minutes late from BBN for late of the rake and the train detain heavily in KGP- HWH section due to bunching of train effected by frequently no tension in Over Head equipment between BCK- HWH due to cyclonic weather .
3. 12822 on 06.05.24 due want of platform and operational constraints the train start terminated at SRC .Inconvenience for the passenger regretted.
4. 12833 on 05.05.Train detained in CKP division due loco trouble at ASB and this section congestion.
5. 12859 on 05.05.24 as the train received 163 minutes late from SECR it become out of path and infringed the path other right time running train and as such train delayed in section of CKP Division delayed is highly regretted.
6. 08145 on 06.05.24 Due to heavy congestion of Mail Express train viz 18030, 18113.
7. 22169 RKMP-SRC Express actually received 162 minutes later from SECR on 02.05.2024 and lost further in JSG. ASB-SRC section due to out of path and precedence
To more important Mail express trains.
8. 12102 on 06.05.2024 the train started 52’’ late from SRC due to late arrived of trains Engine for SHM TC 101T failed from 20:35 -22:22 hrs for water lodging due to cyclone weather.
9. 18616 on KGP DIVISION train diverted on the said dater.
10. 18414 on 07.05.2024 marked 60 minutes rescheduled by CKP on 07.10 hrs . However, KGP and CKP division are advised to maintain punctuality of all coaching trains on outmost priority.

First Experience in 3AC Economy

Got to travel in 3AC Economy for the first time on 1st June 2024 in South Bihar Express from Raipur to Tatanagar (/pnr/post/6061416) as the tickets weren't available in 3AC. Noticed several points-

Coach was 2022 made NR owned.
2. Interiors are appealing except the seat cover
3. Cushioning is apt, comfort is good.
4. Leg spacing has been reduced by some inches, which may not be a problem if your legs are not long enough or you can keep your legs restricted. My height is long enough but the passenger in front of me kept his legs on the seat so it was not an issue for me.
5. Bottle holders are a new innovation. But the problem is that these holders are made of plastic and can be easily broken with some force. Another problem is that for lower seat passengers, the bottle holders will bump the heads of passengers if they sleep keeping their heads towards the window (which happens to be my allotted seat).
6. Seat widths are reduced, but not an issue for me due to my width😝
7. The entry gate inside the coach was sliding gate, unlike pushing gate in most 3AC coaches.
8. 2 charging sockets per 8 passengers is what I found very awful.
9. 2 charging sockets, so two plastic mobile holders. And lo, both were broken.
10. Reading lamps were all in working condition.
11. AC Vent is at the ceiling and as well as small vents are given for all seats. The vents were broken and very less cool air was coming out of the vent.
12. Most awful is the climbing stairs. 3 steps for Middle and Upper berths, and 2 for Side Upper berth. Anyone can easily fall from the stairs.
13. Upper berth passengers have a hard time trying to sit on the berth.
14. Handles are present on both sides for assisting the passengers of upper berth to climb to their respective seats.

I mostly don't use washrooms during journeys as I rarely go on very long journeys of 12+ hours. I use them only for urinals until emergency. This time also, didn't dare to enter the washrooms although there was no filthy smell at the gates😂
