280 is for ICE. These are the local transport trains. U-bahn within city limits and S-Bahn within state limit. For example if i can give context, U bahn in Mumbai will serve only till Borivali or something and s-bahn will serve suburbs like Virar, Thane and Navi Mumbai.
S-bahn limit is 120kmph. U-bahn due to smaller distances between stations, i havent seen it going past 65kmph.

Yes you are right. Munich Frankfurt and Hannover Berlin line is speed heaven. I was just blown off when i travelled from Hamburg to Munich and train was at 300kmph..!! the trains are so stable, with no track noise...overall very peaceful..!

Munich - Augsburg is a section of Munich Frankfurt line via Mannheim. the other line goes via Nuremburg...! Its speed heaven... :)

Munich - Salzburg trains dont cross 150 generally. Munich Frankfurt 280 or 300 is allowed...!
