Almost all trains from Howrah to Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad via Kharagpur run every day taking anywhere from 3 to 16 hours. 5 years back, the Howrah-Mumbai route was super punctual, always reaching Mumbai even before time. But now, the situation is a mess. Is the government messing up to benefit private flights? Look at the data - there are way more flights from Kolkata to Mumbai now, with more passengers. Trains are such a mess that people are switching to flights! Where did the money for developing the Howrah-Mumbai route go? If it really went to development, trains would be on time, faster, and the journey would be smooth. But no, nothing like that happened in 5 years. Did corruption eat up the money? Since there's no railway budget now, it's obvious the money wasn't spent on development. The poor punctuality of trains between Howrah and Mumbai/Pune/Ahmedabad proves 1000% that money wasn't spent on development.

Before Covid, traveling on the Mumbai route was lit, bro. Trains were almost always on time and running smoothly. But in the past 3-4 years, the whole situation has flipped upside down.

Why bother with bi-weekly/tri-weekly? Just cancel the whole damn train! That way, there won't be any problems. And you know what? Pune has such crappy flight connections to Kolkata/Eastern India, even though there are so many people living in the city (lots of folks from Maharashtra also travel there). But do they care? Nope, they just cancel services. They should bring in some new trains, like the "Gande Bharat" ones, to make us happy. (This is what happens when everyone gets free internet and uses cheap Chinese phones — too much bullshit to put up with...)
