Five pairs of trains will be diverted via Sambalpur City Station: 18126/18125 Puri-Rourkela-Puri Express, 12879/12880 LTT-Bhubaneswar-LTT Express, 22865/22866 LTT-Puri-LTT Express, 20471/20472 Lalgarh-Puri-Lalgarh Express, and 20813/20814 Puri-Jodhpur-Puri Express. These diverted trains will have a 5-minute stop at Sambalpur City Station for passenger convenience. The modernization project will increase the station's capacity and improve passenger and goods traffic service. The restructuring involves shifting the Bay Line, Loco Reversal Line, and Inspection Carriage Siding. The project is expected to be completed in 135 days.

Additionally, several other trains will run on diverted routes via Jharsuguda-Titlagarh-Raipur, including the Howrah-Mumbai-Howrah Mail, Azad Hind Express, Bhubaneswar-LTT Express, LTT-Bhubaneswar Express, Nizamuddin-Raigarh Gondwana Express, and Raigarh-Nizamuddin Gondwana Express. The Gondia-Jharsuguda-Gondia MEMU will terminate and depart from Bilaspur during this period. first trial run expected between September 12th and 15th. The train will depart from Durg at 6 am, stopping at Raipur, Kharai Road, Titlagarh, Vijayanagaram, and reach Visakhapatnam around 2:30 pm. The return journey departs from Visakhapatnam at 3:15 pm and arrives in Durg at 11:50 pm. The train will be maintained at the Durg coaching yard, and the Durg running staff will operate the train up to Titlagarh, while the Titlagarh staff will handle it onwards to Visakhapatnam. This will be Chhattisgarh's second Vande Bharat Express train, with the first currently operational between Bilaspur and Nagpur.
