Hey, check out this crazy video I shot of two Rajdhani Express trains crossing each other! It's super rare to see this happen, especially because one of them is always running late. I was lucky to capture this historic moment when the Sealdah Rajdhani and Howrah Rajdhani passed each other in Bally. Watch it on Youtube here: [link]. Main hamesha sochta tha aisa kya ho sakta hai jo kabhi dekhna chahta tha, ki ek Rajdhani Express doosri Rajdhani Express ke upar se aur wahi possible ho jaaye kahin bhi Indian Railways mein, sirf Bally mein HWN-BWN Section mein, jahan Sealdah Rajdhani bridge ke upar se guzarti hai aur Howrah Rajdhani mukhya raste se bridge ke neeche se guzarti hai.
Dono Dankuni ki taraf jaate hain lekin Howrah Rajdhani ki samay par aane ki wajah se har din 3-4 minute pehle se Sealdah Rajdhani ke aane se pehle se guzar jaati hai aur asli mein dono Rajdhani ko ek frame ke neeche lana sach mein mushkil hai, jab tak Howrah Rajdhani 7 ghante der se na ho...!!!
Apne mukhi bhakth ko darshan dekar, Raja ne raftar ghatta di, pata nahi kya hua tha, Bally tak poora combo banane mein 4 minute deri se pohoch gaya jaise hi hum ek Mad Mounted Headlamped Locomotive ke approach hone ki awaaz sun rahe the, iss beech mein humne ek Teen Phaser ki honk suni, koi shak nahi tha ki Sealdah Rajdhani bhi approach kar rahi thi..!!
Situation ko vishwas karna mushkil tha aur dono Rajdhani ek saath wahan se guzar rahe the jo bahut hi rare hota hai, jaldi se maine apna Cam shuru kiya aur shot ko miss nahi kar sakta tha, aur finally is itihasik pal ka video banaya...!!!

Dono raaste Dankuni ki taraf jaate hain jahan dono New Delhi tak ek hi route ko share karte hain, Aur upar Bally Halt-Dankuni ki doori Bally-Dankuni doori se kaafi kam hai, kyun ki Sealdah Rajdhani Howrah Rajdhani ko follow karti hai, par aaj ki situation dekh kar lagta hai Sealdah Rajdhani Dankuni pe Howrah Rajdhani se pehle pahunchi hogi. Par ek kami hai, kyun ki Howrah Rajdhani ko sidha connectivity Dankuni tak maintain karna hota hai toh woh 125-130 KMPH ke saath cross karta hain Dankuni ko, lekin Sealdah Rajdhani ko mukhya track tak switch karne ke liye cross over par jana hota hai aur phir speed badhana hota hai, shayad usi waqt Howrah Rajdhani Sealdah Rajdhani ko Dankuni Outer par pehle hi haga hoga.]

But operation-wise, here's the juice (minus the super-secret stuff): - Rajdhani Express gets its own special section with staff for maintenance. - Normally, trains have one engine, but Rajdhani gets two. Double the power! - It sticks with its own engines from Howrah, not borrowing from other zones. - It gets top priority, even more than the fancy Vande Bharat trains! - Some call it the 'boss of all trains' because Rail Board keeps a close eye on it. - Any issue in its path must be fixed pronto. Unlike Vande Bharat/Shatabdi, Rajdhani rarely faces delays. - Even a tiny holdup can lead to trouble for the responsible staff. - Recent mishap: on Jan 6, 2024, a signal glitch at MSAE caused a 120+ minute delay for Rajdhani due to a careless JCB operator. - In tough spots like an uncloseable gate, Rajdhani doesn't budge easily. - Remember the Baruipara drama with WAP7? Yeah, Rajdhani was involved. So, despite all the new kids on the block, Rajdhani still rules the railway game.
