Two individuals from Chhattisgarh were arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Tamil Nadu for placing stones on a railway track, leading to a train disruption. They were arrested under sections 150(1) A and 147 of the Railway Act, dealing with illegal placement of objects on railway tracks and encroachment of railway property respectively. The accused were presented before a magistrate in Rajapalayam and remanded to judicial custody for 15 days. Further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind their actions.

the Chennai Egmore - Tirunelveli Superfast Express (12631), Chennai Egmore - Sengottai Pothigai Superfast Express (12661), and Chennai Egmore - Kanniyakumari Express (12633). The Sengottai - Chennai Egmore Pothigai Superfast Express (12662), Tirunelveli - Chennai Egmore Superfast Express (12632), and Kanniyakumari - Chennai Egmore Express (12634) will be short terminated at Chengalpattu. The Kanniyakumari - Hazrat Nizamuddin Thirukkural Express (12641) will be diverted via Villupuram and have an additional stop at Perambur on August 14th. The Howrah - Tiruchy Superfast Express (12663) will be diverted via Perambur, skipping stops at Chennai Egmore, Tambaram, Chengalpattu and Melmaruvathur on August 15th. The Chennai Egmore - Karaikal Express (16175) is rescheduled to depart at 10.25 pm from August 7th to 17th.

(12661) from Chennai Egmore to Sengottai, and the Kanniyakumari Express (12633) from Chennai Egmore to Kanniyakumari will depart from Chengalpattu instead of Chennai Egmore. On August 15th and 16th, the Nellai Express (12632) from Tirunelveli to Chennai Egmore, the Pothigai Express (12662) from Sengottai to Chennai Egmore, and the Kanniyakumari Express (12634) from Kanniyakumari to Chennai Egmore will only run until Chengalpattu.
