This problem existed even when GS coaches were higher. Whatever you said is ok for South. For northern especially Bihar to Delhi trains AC and non AC should at least be separated. GS, SL ka fare nhi bda skte h kyuki political parties fir halla krenge. This is gift of Lalu. Ekbar Dinesh Trivedi ji try kiya tha increase krne ka or unhe RM se hi hta diya gya. Ab almost 20 saal ho chuka h ki fare increase hua hi nhi. Isliye railways backdoor se bda rha ab kyuki unsustainable ho gya h . Ab sirf amrit bharat , vande bharat yesab hi chalega jisme normal ke upar 20% fare liya jaega.
I remember Vskp Hyd 3 AC fare before 2014 is Rs 780 and after 2014 slowly increased to Rs 1080 by increase of fares, reservation fare, superfast surcharge. Fares are not increased only in last 5 years. With rake standardization revenue is increasing to IR at the cost of inconvenience to 3AC travellers by decrease of SL . I fear the same situation in south regional trains in next few years. Without increase in fares of GS and SL and operating more trains as per demand situations won't improve.
There seems to be a lot of disconnect between the ministry, IR and people. So many issues , issues with fares, punctuality gone for a toss, laparwahi leading to derailments, local trains not being run on time, white elephant and weird scheduling trains etc. Normally it is the respective GMs and RB which should see all this. RM normally only looks after big infra projects and inaugurations. I have no problems with long distance trains being converted to AC. But alternative arrangements need to made for other pax (MEMUs or AB kinda trains for eg) and it should be ensured people travel in civilized way, not in bathroom or hanging from the door. Punctuality and scheduling needs to be fixed ASAP. All this should be brought up by people to their respective MPs as the RB seems delusional at the moment.

LHB Nandankanan Express arriving Bishnupur Jn.
ECoR's very useful train is 12815/16 Puri - Anand Vihar Nandankanan Express .This train running with 2 LHB Rakes out of 4.RSA with 12875/76 Neelachal Express.HWH WAP-4 22585 arriving VSU in lead of Nandu.

Ye to galat baat hai lekin. Khair jo bhi ho ab ECoR jo chahe. But agar time pe chale to Nandankanan Purushottam se better train hogi imo.
Reason for not getting new rake for nandu & neelu possibly New LHB rake came with HOG facility. Rake with HOG are applied only to the trains which runs with electrical traction end to end. Purushottam & Nandalkanan qualify to this aspect but Neelachal exp does not run entirely with electric traction (btwn MGS & Anvt it is being hauled by TKD wdp4d).
