Old timing was the best for this train. Better to make this train leave MMCt at 23:30 PM and arrive ASR at 04:00 AM and return to leave ASR at 22:30 PM to arrive MMCT at 03:30 AM.

The one way distance of Mumbai Amritsar is 1900km , 28 hrsand they don't need secondary maintenance at other end and can restart after 3-4 hrs. So both Golden temple and Paschim express timings need to be changed such that the two trains start at opp ends at the same timings and reach destination at same time. Go,den Temple mail at MUmbai central at 700 to reach ASR at 1100 return 1500 MCentral at 1900. Paschim PM should be changed to ASR and leave at 700. This will save 1 rake each train.
