You are not getting the point. Basava Express reaches BGK 11.10 hrs & departs at 14.25 hrs. MYS 13.25 BGK 11.10/14.25 MYS 11.40
BGK-GDG is 89 kms & will take 100 mins more. TT needs to change then with speed up. See this opinion 17307:- MYS 13.00; SBC 15.20/30; SUR 04.30/45; BJP 06.50/55; BGK 08.40/45; GDG 10.30|| 17308: - GDG 13.00; BGK 14.50; BJP 16.40; SUR 19.00; SBC 08.10; MYS 10.30|| Only then this proposal will get realised

Yes. It has to be speeded up undoubtedly if extended to Gadag. But the slot suggested you suggested may not work out b/n MYS and SBC. KCVL and VB are lined up during that time. Max to max Basava can depart at 1:10 PM. Again Shatabdi OT will hamper things before SBC. It has slack before arrival at Solapur and also post Solapur till BGK. Can work out in that section as it falls under SWR
Actually this extension is to serve Gadag Badami Passenger to reach Bagalkot Bijapur Solapur Gulbarga by departing GDG at 13:30 as now their is no train from morning 8 am to afternoon 14.30 from Gadag towards Bijapur solapur.Earlier Gadag Solapur Exp or Gadag Mumbai CSMT exp was covering that gap but not GDG SUR cancelled and GDG CSMT extnd upto HPT . So for all above reasons Gadag pass asking to extend this Idle Basava Exp upto GDG jn.
Basava Exp can be speed up between SUR BGK to extend until GDG. At present Almatti to Bagalkot under doubling especially Jadaramkunti to BGK get doubled and commissioned then easily Basava can save some time to reach BGK. Also BGK GDG double electric line but SWR not upgrading speeds yet in this doubled section where all trains speedup is required.
