My Trip Report: Travel Date: 26th Aug 2015-------------------------------------------------/pnr/post/1574767Took a Fast Track Call Taxi from my home to Chennai Egmore railway station. Paid Rs 140.I was greeted with the Arrival/Departure board.My dad, mom and myself took the baggage's and started to go to PF5 to board Pearl City. Last time for KK it was PF4 so it was convenient since no need to take escalator.While walking through TN SK greeted us. It just entered PF 4 at 06:50 PM.We went and boarded our A1 coach seat numbers 2, 4 & 6. My sisters 3 years daughter also came with us. She had...

Pearl City express 12693 with a little off link ET WAP4 at Chennai Egmore waiting to start its journey towards Tuticorin. I was travelling to VPT and the Train was bang on time on all stations till MDU where it was made to wait for nearly 30 mins for a goods train. Finally the train arrived at VPT around 5:05. The recent conversion of full electrified lines on both Tuticorin and CAPE route has helped for all south bound trains to reach the destination ahead of time. We travelled from Chennai to Tuticorin in AC first class compartment in Aug 2011. It was confusing to find the platform and the compartment at Egmore station. With heavy luggage, and hazzled by the porters this was a difficult task. We were fortunate to get a two bunker coupe. Clean, freshly laundered bedsheets, pillow cases and towels were supplied. The cabin had reasonable AC, several lights, power outlets and mirror. The common toilet was not very pleasant. However, the journey was not bad and we were able to sleep all the way to Tuti.
