Less berths much more demand.
Only PRS can book tickets fast and fast booking can not be made responsible for WL, No one books ticket just for fun.

dear sir on railway station reservation counter there is a system to feed the details before 8:00 AM and after Opening of Day Booking u can book ticket on single enter. on irctc u can book ticket in 2 step. if we open multiple windows of irctc in quick book option. there is also agent setting on small area of reservation counters. this information may not very true but i notice this in many trains.
actually you are right but upto some extent.. ya reservation counters can fill the names before hand but than they can't book all the tickets in 10 seconds...
the tickets getting sold out due to modification..
if you go to modify a booking , they only need to change the date of the previous ticket already booked...
so now a days the clerks...
