all high speed trains above 140kmph in china are emu basefd trains the train speeds are D trains 200 kmph beijing tianjin intercity trains 300kmph and crh trains max speeds 380kmph last two trains have separate elevated tracks while trains upto 200kmph are run on conventioonal rail system along with regular trains. average speeds are 150+ for D trains
Our politicians have a knack of my statements without doing any research. They can run both the Rajdhanis as day trains using train sets but guess they wont be that popular.
I think about the world Railways, in which India is included too. the only double Deck train to have single Sleeper system mostly exists in the Amtraks n the Russian DD's.
Such design is yet to b implemented in Indian Railways with lot of changes.
India is one of the first earliest nations to bring the train_set system in the form of Multiple Unit Train cars, back in its earliest days.

Reminds me a bit of French-Spain and not to forget the Paris - Rome connection. :-P
cutting the operational cost, laundry cost, catering cost.. they can recover the investment within 2 years.
