IR should be allowed all the Scheduled Private Bank Pass book ( such as TMB,KVB,LVB etc ) with photos as id proof,since many rural areas Nationalised banks are not available.
Already they have making a concession and are allowing 10 ID proofs to be shown instead of only 1. Now to expect anything more would not be wise. Passbooks are only 1 of the 10 prescribed. If the reqd passbook is not available surely he can produce anyone of the other 9 IDs.
Along with the Nationalized bank all the Private sector Banks are also sponsored Indian Prime Minister Schemes.So along with the Nationalized Bank Passbook,Private Sector Bank Passbook also declared as valid one ID.So many rural people are connected to these ( such as TMB,KVB,LVB etc ) Private sector Bank only.Any original passbook loss during travel can be easily retrieved ( such as TMB,KVB,LVB etc ) but very difficult to retrieve the Ration card,Voter id ,driving licence etc
