I am shocked to hear this as well, I thought that the MPS would be 90 Kmph for this route(not 100kmph/110kmph keeping in mind the flood prone area;clayey and loose soil)for express trains. Now the news is coming about upgradations of MNE-SHC from the existing 60kmph(Passenger)/80kmph(ASR GR) to 100kmph or something. Could have easily made the entire stretch(MNE-SHC-BNKI-PRNA-KIR) 80/90kmph fit for express/mail.
with 60 kmph as speed limit, guess can't expect any existing trains to get diverted via this route.
