Nice step, efforts should be done to connect the unconnected distt HQs through alternate route rather than going for a separate branch.
Former approach shall ensure that the new line is well utilised and there are large number of trains to the newly connected cities. On the other hand, connectivity through a branch line usually result in introduction of just a few passenger trains connecting to nearest junction.
